MUN83 - 20030320 - MUNICH, BAVARIA, GERMANY : Passengers stand in line at the check-in of German airline Lufthansa at Frankfurt airport on Thursday 20 March 2003. Lufthansa said 20 March it flew back into the black in 2002, posting net profit of 717 million euros (760 million dollars), compared with 2001's net loss of 633 million euros, when earnings nosedived as a result of the September 11 attacks in the US. The carrier therefore intended to pay shareholders a dividend of 0.60 euros per share for 2002, after waiving the payout in 2001. At operating level, Lufthansa's profits soared to 718 million euros last year from 28 million euros a year earlier and revenues edged up 1.8 percent to 17 billion euros, the group said in a statement.
