Erstmals heißt die Preisverleihung deshalb auch MTV Movie & TV Awards. Sender wie HBO, AMC oder Netflix haben dem Fernsehen in den letzten Jahren zu einer Renaissance verholfen. In Produktionen wie "Game of Thrones" wird mittlerweile mehr Geld investiert als in Hollywood-Blockbuster.
Aus diesem Grund hat man sich bei MTV dazu entschlossen, erstmals auch TV-Produktionen zu Ehren. Nun wurde die Liste mit allen Nominierungen bekanntgegeben.
Zu den Top-Favoriten für einen Preis in den neuen TV-Kategorien zählen unter anderem die beliebten Shows "Game of Thrones", "Stranger Things" oder "Atlanta".
Die MTV Movie & TV Awards werden am 7. Mai in Los Angeles verliehen.
