Piano von John Lennon soll 1,2 Millionen einbringen
Auf dem antiken Stück schrieb die Beatles-Legende unter anderem "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds".
Das Auktionshaus "Gotta Have Rock and Roll" bringt das Piano unter den Hammer, auf dem John Lennon Lieder für "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1967), das achte Studioalbum der Beatles komponierte.
Das Instrument aus der Produktion von John Broadwood & Sons stand in Lennons Anwesen im englischen Kenwood und ist mit einer Plakette versehen, die auf seine popkulturelle Bedeutung verweist. "Auf diesem Piano wurde[n] geschrieben: A Day in the Life[,] Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds[,] Good Morning, Good Morning[,] Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite und viele andere[.] John Lennon 1971".
Das Piano wurde bereits 2016 von Sotheby's versteigert, nun wartet es auf einen neuen Besitzer. Das Mindestangebot liegt bei 575.000 Dollar (circa 512.000 Euro). Es wird ein Verkaufspreis von bis zu 1,2 Millionen Dollar (ca. 1,07 Millionen Euro) erwartet.
