Rocklegende Lemmy Kilmister ist tot

Die Musikwelt steht momentan unter Schock. Lemmy Kilmister, Frontmann der Gruppe Motörhead, ist am 28. Dezember vier Tage nach seinem 70. Geburtstag verstorben. Erst vor kurzem wurde bei ihm ein besonders aggressiver Krebs diagnostiziert.

Für tot erklärt wurde der legendäre Sänger und Bassist, der am Heiligen Abend 1945 in Stoke on Trent geboren worden war, aufgrund seines Lebensstils schon unzählige Male. In letzter Zeit mussten Motörhead aufgrund des doch schon etwas angeschlagenen Gesundheitszustands Lemmys einige Konzerte absagen.

In der Nacht auf Dienstag folgte dann auf der Facebook-Seite von Motörhead die traurige Nachricht. "És gibt keinen einfachen Weg, folgendes zu sagen... unser großer, nobler Freund Lemmy ist heute nach einem kurzen Kampf gegen einen extrem aggressiven Krebs ums Leben gekommen. [...] Wir werden in den kommenden Tagen mehr darüber sagen, jetzt aber...spielt Motörhead laut, spielt Hawkwind laut, spielt Lemmy's Musik LAUT. Habt ein paar Drinks", lautete die Botschaft der Band.

Weltstars zollen Tribut

Wie einflussreich Lemmy und Motörhead für die Rock- und Metal-Szene war, zeigen die Beileidsbekundungen auf Facebook und Twitter. Von Ozzy Osbourne über Metallica bis hin zu Nickleback verneigen sich zahlreiche Weltstars vor dem nun verstorbenen Musiker (siehe Seite 2).

Bis zuletzt stand Lemmy Kilmister auf der Bühne und bellte in seiner unnachahmlichen Art ins Mikrofon. Am Valentinstag 2016 hätten er und seine Mitmusiker die Wiener Stadthalle zum Beben gebracht.
