Der japanische Verkleidungstrend Cosplay, bei dem sich Teilnehmer möglichst originalgetreu als ihre Idolen aus Mangas, Animes oder Games verkleiden, ist auch in Österreich längst in der Fan-Szene angekommen. In oft wochenlangen Arbeitsprozessen stellen die Kreativen dabei ihre Kostüme meist in Handarbeit selbst her. Global sind viele Cosplayer bereits zu echten Stars geworden.
